SCS Mini VSN Challenge

SCS (www.splitcoaststampers.com) had their first ever Mini VSN (virtual stamping night) last night. It was a lot of fun. The Mini VSN is different in that the challenges aren't timed. For me that is a huge benefit. I am much more of a scrapbooker than a card maker so it takes me longer than normal to design and put a card together. I have already made cards for 2 of the 4 challenges. The first one uses the retired SU set 'Canine Capers' and the card will be donated to a group that sends cards to the 101st Airborne Troops. The 2nd card is for my Aunt's birthday and it is just a fun girly card using the SU retired set 'First in Fashion'.  Feel free to email me or leave a comment if you have questions about the cards or stamps. Thanks for looking!Image24 Image16

Monday Morning

Morning all!

Want to know my newest cool trick? Many of you seasoned stampers & scrapbookers may already know this but I just found out and so I wanted to share it here. It is paper piercing! Paper piercing is a quick and easy way to add texture and interest to your scrapbooking and card making projects. My favorite company, Stampin' UP! (of course I am a demonstrator for them so I may be biased!), sells a neat tool  called the Mat Pack that makes the piercing quick, easy, and neat. A quick and easy application for this is to use SU's photo corner punch and punch out  coordinating pieces then line up your piercing tool with the top corner and punch away! Awesome isn't it? Try it for yourself and let me know what you think. Img_3481_copyImg_3480_copy

Welcome to my new blog!

It’s blogging time! I can’t believe I waited so long to start my own blog it. Actually the technical part was easy – the hard part was choosing a domain name! I agonized over choosing just the right name but Dave and I finally decided on “Keeper of the Scrapbook.” I love it! I think it is catchy and will be easy to remember. Now that I have a name I’ll begin to upload some of my scrapbook and stamping projects so check back soon.
